Hey Friends, I’m just popping in with some encouragement and words from Scripture. About every other week, I hope to post a devotion for your day.
Let’s look at Psalm 118. Have you noticed that Verse 1 and the last verse, 29, are the same?
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. ~Psalm 118:1 and 29 (NIV)
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (ESV)
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (NLT)

While we meditate on God’s love, let us also look at the action taken by the probable writer of this Psalm, David. He says, “Give thanks.” Beyond that, he tells you why to give thanks, because God is good and his love endures. Finally, back to the point of Psalm 118, with the opening and closing verse being this charge to give thanks.
Perhaps this is our example of how we should start and end our day. We should give thanks. We should rest in the promise that God is good, no matter what the day has brought. And he can take comfort that God’s love is steadfast and enduring.
Let’s try to wake up and go to sleep with this verse in our heart… and watch what God will do from there!
Do you have a favorite way to start and end the day? Please share!
Let’s encourage one another.
