Devotion of the Day: John 14:1-4

There are times when I feel directionless. Overall, I may know where I’m going, but I can get blown off course. Sometimes a new heading is great, but a lot of times, it’s not. I can feel when I’m not on the right path.

At those times, we need to breathe, take a moment to look around, and find a way to start again.

While circumstances in life can blow us around, our faith in God is always constant, and always lighting the way, if we’d take the time to look, see it, and follow what God has us to do.

When we’re off course, trying to navigate our way through a difficult season, struggling to find home base, we can always turn to Scripture.

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going. ~John 14: 1-4 (NLT)

Guess what? When we’re lost, off course, feeling broken, God is there. He wants us and is preparing a place for us. You can rest in that. Trust it, believe it. We don’t need to be directionless for long, if we focus on Christ.

May this encourage you today.
